Virginia senior Kelly Reese had a big week to earn Epoch / US Lacrosse National Player of the Week honors and help the Cavaliers potentially turn their season around.

Reese had five goals as the Cavaliers defeated Loyola 11-7 on Wednesday, and then followed that up with three goals, an assist and three draw controls as Virginia upset No. 11 Notre Dame, 15-5, on Saturday.

Reese leads Virginia with 22 goals and 27 points, and is shooting 55 percent for the season. On free position attemps, Reese has buried 6-of-8 opportunities, including all three of her shots in last week's victories. The Cavaliers, who moved back into the Nike/US Lacrosse national rankings this week, play at James Madison on Wednesday.
