Jacquelin ‘Jackie’ Pitts, a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and one of the most impactful figures in the history and development of women’s lacrosse, passed away on Friday, August 30 at her home in Delaware. She was 87 years of age.

Pitts’ lifetime of lacrosse experience spanned the entire spectrum of the sport: player, coach, educator, camp director, administrator, and international pioneer for women’s lacrosse.

The 12-game schedule for the international competition at the inaugural USA Lacrosse Experience in Indianapolis has been announced. The U.S. men’s and women’s sixes national teams will compete against the national teams from Colombia, Great Britain and Puerto Rico from Oct. 11-12 at Carroll Stadium on the campus of Indiana University Indianapolis.

The United States completed one of the most dominant runs in international lacrosse history by beating Canada 23-6 in the gold medal game of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China. It marked the sixth time in eight tries that the U.S. won the gold medal at the women’s junior level and the U.S. outscored its opponents 211-20 while winning all seven of its games in the tournament.

Everyone should have the opportunity to play lacrosse and feel included, accepted, and valued, regardless of their ability or disability. Some athletes with disabilities can and do participate in “mainstream” lacrosse programs at all levels of play.

For many others, it is beneficial to participate in a modified version of the game that is designed specifically for the inclusion, safety, and enjoyment of people with disabilities. This is known as Adaptive Lacrosse

The United States used the same formula it’s used the entire tournament – dominance on the draw, relentless defensive pressure and pinpoint passing on offense – to beat longtime rival Australia 33-1 in the semifinal round of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship on Thursday from Mong Kok Stadium in Hong Kong, China.

USA Lacrosse has named 48 of the nation’s top high school girls’ lacrosse players to its 2024 USA Select U16 and U18 teams. Following a series of regional tryouts around the country, a total of nearly 180 players were invited to a three-day national combine that wrapped up in early August. The USA Select teams were determined after the combine.

The United States opened playoff action with a 31-6 victory over Puerto Rico in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship from Hong Kong, China.

The second-seeded U.S. will face longtime rival Australia in the semifinal round on Thursday at 4 pm local time (4 am Eastern). Australia, the No. 3 seed, defeated Wales, 11-5, in its quarterfinal matchup.
