Warrior Extends Agreement in Support of U.S. Men's National Team

By Brian Logue

SPARKS, Md. — Warrior Sports has signed a multiyear agreement to continue its support of the U.S. Men’s National Team Program as an official partner/equipment supplier. The partnership will include the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego, the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships and other team training activities.

“Our relationship with USA Lacrosse has always been centered around one main goal, to grow the game,” said Gabe O’Neil, brand manager, marketing for Warrior. “We have seen first-hand that the people at USA Lacrosse are passionate not only about growing the game at a professional level but also making it more accessible for young athletes to pick up a stick and begin learning the Medicine Game. Warrior is excited to be renewing our partnership with USA Lacrosse so that we may continue making a positive impact in the lacrosse community and to showcase the best of what we have to offer for our nation’s top players.”

Warrior first sponsored the U.S. Men’s National Team Program in 1998 and has been a longtime supporter, including for last summer’s U.S. Men’s U21 team that captured a gold medal in Ireland. Warrior will be included in the equipment pool for sticks and protective equipment for the men’s field and box teams in addition to supplying helmets for the box team.

“The USA Men’s National Team Program is grateful for the support of Warrior as world-class equipment providers for the 2023 U.S. men’s team and 2024 box team as they prepare to compete in their respective world championship competitions,” said Skip Lichtfuss, director of national teams and high performance for USA Lacrosse.

USA Lacrosse recently named the final 23-man roster that will represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego. The United States is the reigning world champion and will be the No. 1 seed for the 30-team event which runs June 21 through July 1.

The U.S. has won a record 10 world championships since the first international competition in 1967, but will face numerous challengers, including three-time champion Canada. The U.S. is looking to become the first nation to repeat as champion at this event in more than two decades.

The location for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships has not yet been announced. The U.S. has won bronze medals in each of the five men’s box world championships held to date, most recently in 2019 when the U.S. narrowly missed out on a gold medal game appearance after a 9-7 loss to the Haudenosaunee Nationals in the semifinal round.
