USA Lacrosse has named the medical personnel for the three teams -- Women's U20, Women's Box, and Men's Box -- that will compete in World Lacrosse championship competition in 2024.

Physician: Dr. Kari Kindschi, MD - MedStar Health
ATC: Anne Bryan, MS, LAT, ATC - Virginia Tech University
ATC: Olivia King, MS, LAT, ATC, NREMT - Quinnipiac University
Kindschi will be working with a U.S. national team for the second time. She also served on the 2019 U.S. Women’s U19 National Team that won a world championship in Peterborough, Ontario. Kindschi, MD, CAQSM, is board certified in family medicine and fellowship trained in sports medicine. She specializes in the nonoperative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and is an expert in medical issues that are specific to sports and exercise in athletes and active patients of all ages and skill levels. Through MedStar Sports Medicine, Dr. Kindschi is the medical director for Towson University Athletics.
Bryan has served on the staff at Virginia Tech since 2014 and handles all medical needs for the Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse team. She was highlighted for her work with Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse player Mary Griffin by USA Lacrosse Magazine in 2021. Bryan was an assistant athletic trainer at Georgia State University from 2012-14 and prior to that was a graduate assistant trainer at Georgia Southern University.
King joined the staff at Quinnipiac University in January 2023 as an associate athletic trainer. She works with the women’s lacrosse program. Prior to her current role she served on the training staffs at the University States Military Academy and Emory University. She was also a teacher and trainer with Marietta (Ga.) Public Schools after serving as a graduate assistant at Syracuse University.

Physician: Dr. Mohammed Emam, MD - Johns Hopkins University
ATC: Devon Serrano, DAT, LAT, ATC - Sweet Briar College
ATC: Anthony Rossi, DAT, ATC, CSCS, NREMT - University of Michigan
Emam is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician specializing in sports medicine, and serves as one of the team physicians for Johns Hopkins University. His expertise is in musculoskeletal conditions, including overuse and acute injuries and chronic conditions affecting the spine, shoulder and elbow, hip and knee, and other joints. As an ultrasound expert, he uses this technology to help diagnose musculoskeletal conditions and determine the best treatment approach. Emam also serves as Johns Hopkins Medicine’s director of the physical medicine and rehabilitation sports medicine fellowship program.
Serrano just completed her eighth year as director of sports medicine at Sweet Briar College, with responsibility for all of the varsity teams and two competitive equestrian programs. Prior to Sweet Briar, she worked through Auburn University as a fellow of the Warrior Athletic Training program at Fort Benning, serving as the athletic trainer for soldiers in basic training. She has also been an athletic trainer at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
Rossi is in his third year as the men’s lacrosse athletic trainer at the University of Michigan, after previous stops as athletic trainer at Western Michigan University and Adrian College. He earned his Doctor of Athletic Training from the University of Idaho in 2019. In addition to his membership in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Rossi is also a member of the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Physician: Dr. Catherine Logan, MD, MBA, MSPT - Colorado Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics
ATC: Jay Cordone, ATC - Yale University
ATC: Erin Pettinger, MSEd, ATC - Georgetown University
Logan is a sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon specializing in complex knee and shoulder surgery at Colorado Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Denver. As a former physical therapist and personal trainer, Logan provides distinct expertise in sports injury, prevention, surgical management, and recovery. She began her career working at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, before moving to sports-medicine-focused clinics. Logan served as the Premier Lacrosse League’s inaugural medical director and head physician, and is also a team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams.
Cordone started at Yale University in 2005 and was promoted to head athletic trainer in 2016. During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Cordone has worked with football, men’s lacrosse, women’s volleyball, softball, and the men's and women’s swimming and diving teams. While now overseeing all day-to-day operations of the athletic training department, he continues to serve as head athletic trainer for Yale’s football and men’s lacrosse teams.
Pettinger begins her second term with the U.S. National Team program after serving as the head athletic trainer for the gold medal winning 2022 U.S. Men’s U20 Team at World Championship in Limerick, Ireland. Pettinger has been a member of the Georgetown University sports medicine staff since 2011, and now serves as the associate head athletics trainer for the Hoyas. Her primary sport responsibilities are men’s lacrosse and men's and women's golf, along with administrative duties.
