By Brian Logue

SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse has added Todd MacFarlane and Amy Moreau to its coaching staff for the National Team Development Program.

MacFarlane will serve as an assistant coach for the U.S. Youth National Boys’ U17 team, joining returning co-head coaches Mark Glicini and Michael Gongas, assistant coach Tim O’Branski and goalie coach Jack Runkel.

Moreau will serve as an assistant coach for the U.S. Youth National Girls’ U19 team, joining returning co-head coaches Amy Altig and Lauren Schwarzmann Skellchock, assistant coach Jessy Morgan and goalie coach Megan Huether Nicotra.

The National Team Development Program (NTDP) is a multi-stage process for middle and high school-aged boys’ and girls’ players that leads to U.S. Youth National Teams. The ultimate goal of the NTDP is to provide high-level training for the nation’s top young players that will ultimately expand the talent pool for the U.S. national teams that participate in international World Lacrosse competitions.

Regional ID Clinics for the 2025 cycle will begin in late April, ultimately leading up to international competition for the U.S. Youth National Teams in the fall. More information is available about the program here.

MacFarlane is a veteran coach with experience at the high school, collegiate, professional and international levels. He has coached both men’s and women’s lacrosse, most recently helping the Episcopal High School (Pa.) girls’ program to a pair of Top 20 national finishes by USA Lacrosse as an assistant coach. He was an assistant coach for Scotland at the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship and spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Redwoods in the Premier Lacrosse League, helping the team reach the championship game in 2019. Other assistant coaching experience comes from Penn, Malvern Prep (Pa.) and LaJolla HS (Calif.) and he served as the head coach at the University of San Diego and La Costa Canyon HS (Calif.).

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, MacFarlane was a captain and all-conference performer at Pfeiffer and played professionally with the Anaheim Storm in the National Lacrosse League.

Moreau is in her second season as an assistant coach at Davidson College after a standout playing career at Massachusetts. She helped UMass to four Atlantic-10 regular season championships and three NCAA tournament berths. In 2023, she was named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year after setting career-highs with 35 goals and 15 assists. She has been involved with the USA Lacrosse National Team Development Program since 2021, serving as an evaluator at regional tryouts and the national combine since 2023.

A current member of the U.S. Women’s Field National Team, Moreau played professionally with Athletes Unlimited the last two summers, finishing in the Top 20 in points in 2024.
