The Division II tournament also begins on May 7. The D-II game matchups and schedule will be announced shortly.

UCLA is the defending champion after winning its first WCLA title last year in Wichita. The Bruins are one of two undefeated teams in the tournament and will try to become just the fourth program to claim back-to-back D-I championships.

“Championship week requires mental and physical strength, and we find that in each other,” said UCLA club president Caroline Irons. “We know our potential and how important it is to trust each other as teammates. We are heading to Wichita again with the same mentality and goal as last year.”

Overall, there are seven prior champions in Wichita this year. They include No. 1 seed Georgia (2016), No. 2 UCLA, No. 5 Boston College (2022 & 2023), No. 7 Michigan (2015 & 2018), No. 12 Virginia Tech (2009), and No. 14 Pittsburgh (2014 & 2019).

Most of the teams are well familiar with the Stryker Sports Complex as 13 of this year’s qualifiers were also in Wichita last year. No. 6 seed Central Florida is one of the three teams that didn’t qualify in 2024, and in fact, the Knights return to the championship for the first time since 2012, the longest drought among this year’s teams.

“The national tournament has been a goal we’ve been chasing for a long time, and now that it’s here, the energy is unreal,” said UCF’s Manuela Zarrate. “The chance to make history and represent UCF at the national level is something we’ve all wanted and we worked very hard to make it happen.”

Hosted by USA Lacrosse, the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) Division I and Division II National Championships showcase the nation’s premier non-varsity collegiate teams. The annual WCLA National Championship began in 2001 with a Division I tournament. The Division II championship was added in 2010.

Admission is free for all games with the exception of semifinal and championship games played in the stadium. Parking at the Stryker Sports Complex is free throughout the event.

USA Lacrosse will provide video streaming of all D-I and D-II games throughout the tournament. Additional details to be announced shortly.

Additionally, USA Lacrosse will use Tourney Machine to provide live scores and tournament updates for the 2025 WCLA National Championships. The Tourney Machine APP can be downloaded to your smartphone in order to access the latest information.
