Fueled by impressive early season showings, the defending champion UCLA Bruins and 2024 national semifinalist Georgia hold the top two positions in the first WCLA Top 20 ranking of the regular season. Both teams sport 7-0 records following perfect performances in tournaments they hosted.

UCLA recorded decisive wins over No. 12 Utah Club, No. 15 Florida State, No. 16 San Diego State, and No. 20 Utah Valley last week in its Golden State Invitational event. The Bruins already have six wins over ranked opponents in 2025 and are currently riding a 21-game winning streak, dating back to last season.

Similarly, Georgia recorded victories last weekend over No. 3 Michigan Club, No. 4 Boston College Club, No. 7 Virginia Tech Club, and No. 8 Northeastern in its own Big Dawgs Classic. The Bulldogs face three more ranked opponents in this week’s Cactus Classic in Arizona.

No. 6 Virginia Club is one of the biggest movers this week, jumping six spots from its preseason ranking. The Cavaliers were fueled by a 3-1 showing at the Santa Barbara Shootout earlier this month, including wins over No. 13 UC Santa Barbara and No. 18 BYU.

No. 13 UC Santa Barbara, which leads the nation with nine victories thus far, and No. 19 Cal Poly are the newcomers in this week’s Top 20. Both teams were unranked in the preseason.

Nearly 150 non-varsity collegiate teams comprise the WCLA and compete under the USA Lacrosse umbrella. The season will conclude with the top qualifiers competing in the national championship tournament in Wichita, Kansas, May 7-10.
