SPARKS, Md. – Registration for the USA Lacrosse Regional ID Clinics, the first phase of the National Team Development Program leading to U.S. Youth National Teams, is now open. There are currently 10 sites confirmed for girls and nine sites for boys for Regional ID Clinics at the U17 and U19 age groupings and three sites for the new U15 age group. Virtual applications are also accepted for all age groups and additional site locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
Launched in 2019, the National Team Development Program annually encompasses approximately 1,500 athletes and offers them high-level training and instruction while evaluating them for inclusion for the U.S. Youth National Teams.
Of the 22 players that represented the gold-medal winning U.S. Women’s U20 National Team at the World Championship in Hong Kong, China in 2024, 17 of them came through the NTDP. Similarly, seven of the current U.S. Men’s U20 National Training Team members that will compete at the world championship in South Korea this summer participated in the NTDP.
Following the Regional ID Clinics for the U17 and U19 age groupings, approximately 350 players will be invited to USA Lacrosse headquarters for national combines. The girls’ combine is set for July 28-31 and the boys’ combine will be held Aug. 4-7.
Following those combines, 24 players will be named to the U17 and U19 U.S. Youth National Teams for each gender. At the U15 age group, players will be selected directly from the Player ID Clinics and virtual applications for the the U.S. Youth National Team.
The U.S. Youth National Teams will play against international competition this fall. All three age groups will compete at USA Lacrosse headquarters the weekend of Sept. 18-21 and the U17 and U19 teams will participate in the Brogden Cup at USA Lacrosse the weekend of Oct. 23-26.
To be eligible for the 2025 National Team Development Program, individuals must be born on or between September 1, 2006 and August 31, 2012.
