SPARKS, Md. – For nearly a decade, USA Lacrosse has offered an age verification service to member leagues and events. The service has gained momentum over the last 18 months as USA Lacrosse works in collaboration with programs and event operators around the country. Here are four things to know about age verification and USA Lacrosse.
#1 It’s Free
There is no charge for players or leagues/event operators to utilize the USA Lacrosse age verification service. This is a mandatory one-time step for players and the age verification remains in place as long as they maintain an active USA Lacrosse membership.
#2 It’s Easy
The USA Lacrosse age verification system is secure and easy to use. The process can be completed in three easy steps.
- Log into your USALacrosse.com account, not your child's if you are a parent.
- Find the member you need to verify.
- Upload a valid form of ID (birth certificates and driver's licenses are the most common forms used).
The age-verified processing is usually completed within two business days of submission. Please allow adequate time if you are participating in an event that requires age verification.
#3 It Benefits Everyone
Age verification allows leagues, programs and event operators to reliably group players in appropriate age segments, providing for a fairer and safer environment for everyone. Leagues, programs and event operators can also access insurance benefits from USA Lacrosse by utilizing the service and the USA Lacrosse membership program.
#4 It’s Mandatory
All player members of USA Lacrosse must complete their age verification documentation no later than July 1, 2025 or they will lose benefits, including access to playing opportunities and insurance coverage. If you, or your child, have not completed the age verification process yet, visit your USA Lacrosse account today to avoid any lapse in your membership.
