They’re back.
The best women’s lacrosse players in the world are coming back to USA Lacrosse for the third season of Athletes Unlimited women’s professional lacrosse. The entire season will be played at the USA Lacrosse complex for the second year in a row. The four-week season begins on Thursday, July 20 and runs through Sunday, August 13
The league features 56 of the sport’s best athletes competing on different teams each weekend with a unique scoring system that awards points for individual statistics and team success. Goalie Taylor Moreno edged out Sam Apuzzo for the top spot on the season-long leaderboard last year.
“I’ve been counting down the days for the season to start,” Moreno said earlier this summer. “I love the fast-pace of it, I can’t wait to see everybody. What AU is doing is just awesome for the sport of women’s lacrosse. I just really enjoy being out there in front of the fans.”
Moreno was one of four captains selecting teammates for the opening week of the season, joining Apuzzo, Ally Matroianni and Britt Read.

The AU lineup of players includes 17 players that have won at least one gold medal as a member of the U.S. women’s national team, including recent Tewaaraton winners Apuzzo (2018) and Charlotte North (2021, 2022).
Games will be played on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday each week on Tierney Field with ESPN platforms carrying all of the action. The opening weekend features five of the six games on linear television, including a double-header on ESPN2 on Sunday.
