Marie McCool

Dynamic for a decade.

An all-everything midfielder, Marie McCool was one of the youngest players on the 2017 U.S. world championship team.

You wouldn't have known it by the way she played. Still in college at the time, McCool was right at home wearing red, white and blue and finished fifth on the U.S. with 12 goals during the World Cup in England.

She's been winning championships ever since.

In 2022, she helped the U.S. senior women to another gold medal with 20 goals (tied for second on the team) and 24 points. Her game translates to sixes, as evidenced by her earning MVP honors at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, as she led the U.S. to a gold medal.

In 2026 in Japan, she become just the eighth player in U.S. history to win three World Lacrosse championships at the senior level in field lacrosse. She's also won world championships at The World Games 2017 (field) and 2025 (sixes), giving her five total world championships, the most of any player — men's or women's — in U.S. history.

U.S. Team

  • Member of the national team program since 2015
  • Five-time world champion — three World Lacrosse championships (2017, 2022, 2026) in field lacrosse, plus The World Games championships in both field (2017) and sixes (2025)
  • MVP of The World Games 2025; she led the tournament with 32 points scored (20G, 12A)
  • All-World at the World Lacrosse Women's Championship in 2026, with seven goals, four assists and 12 draw controls while controlling play in the midfield
  • Tied for second on 2022 U.S. team with 20 goals and was fourth with 24 points
  • Helped USA win 2025 Pan-American championship, ranking second on the team with 22 draw controls and third with 11 goals
