Brennan O'Neill Selected No. 1 Overall in 2024 NLL Draft
The 2024 National Lacrosse League Draft took place virtually Sunday night, and virtually no one was surprised by the No. 1 selection made by the Philadelphia Wings.
Brennan O’Neill became the fourth player to be selected first overall in both the NLL and its outdoor professional counterpart, following in the footsteps of Kevin Crowley (2012), Lyle Thompson (2015) and Jeff Teat (2020).
He is the first American to be taken No. 1 since Casey Powell in 1998.
The Duke star and U.S. Men’s National Team most valuable player watched the draft from his former college stomping grounds.
“Now I get to write my own history in this league,” he told Teddy Jenner after the draft.
O’Neill was one of three Duke players taken in the draft. You can see the results of all six rounds below.
