Fred Opie is an author and former Syracuse University and U.S. National Lacrosse team player growing integrity, effort, and care on and off the field.
Today’s Fred Opie show was recorded at the McDonogh School in Owing Mills, Md., a suburb of Baltimore. Boys' head coach Andy Hilgartner invited me to come and speak to several groups at the high school. I spoke at FCA huddle, Sankofa (BSU type organization), a history class, and ended with a lunch time Fred Opie Show with the McDonogh girls' and boys' varsity lacrosse teams. Both teams are outstanding and are ranked in the Top 10 in the 2018 Nike/US Lacrosse preseason national rankings.
Taylor Cummings, Jessy Morgan, and Jeremy Sieverts are outstanding McDonogh alums who I’ve interviewed on the show. Today, we interview McDonogh seniors Julia Cooper, a goalie going to Stanford; Maddie Jenner, a midfielder headed to Duke; Jack Simmons, a midfielder committed to Virginia; and Jack Sweeney a midfielder/attackman who will be attending the United States Naval Academy. Following the interviews I took questions from the audience.
