The Canadian media coined Tom Schreiber as "Captain America" after his successful debut with the NLL's Toronto Rock, but he really is a captain of this U.S. team, sharing the honor alongside Jesse Bernhardt and Michael Ehrhardt.
Schreiber, whose father, Doug, also won a world title with the U.S. team (1974) etched himself into USA lore with his dramatic goal in the final second of the 2018 world championship game. Schreiber had 21 points in the tournament was named the event's outstanding midfielder. He has also played for the U.S. in Sixes at The World Games 2022 in Alabama.
One of the best to ever play the sport, Schreiber was a two-time MVP in the MLL, helping Ohio win the 2017 MLL championship and has been named the PLL's top midfielder three times.
With no previous box experience, Schreiber, a four-time All-American at Princeton, scored 94 points in his first year with the Toronto Rock and was named the NLL's Rookie of the Year in 2017. He had a career-high 116 points in 2023, finishing fourth in the NLL in scoring.
