Liz Hogan has been close to her dream before — playing on the training teams leading up to the 2013 and 2017 World Cups — but she never made the final roster. That's ancient history as one of the world's top goaltenders will finally get her chance to shine on the biggest stage in the sport as a member of the U.S. team.
A high school All-American who started four seasons at Syracuse, Hogan has been preparing her whole life for this moment, but she never makes it about herself. "She is the most humble, selfless … I’m trying to find all the greatest adjectives possible and put them in one sentence. There aren’t enough words to describe how remarkable of a person she is," says U.S. assistant coach Amy Altig.

- Member of the U.S. Training Team for world championship in 2013 and 2017
- On first world championship roster after narrowly missing out on roster spots the last two cycles
- Made five saves while allowing just one goal in 19-3 win over Canada at 2021 Fall Classic

- IWLCA Goaltender of the Year at Syracuse in 2010
- Graduated as Syracuse’s all-time saves leader (654)
- Four-time All-Big East goalie (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)
OFF THE FIELD/PRO
- Played in both the UWLX and WPLL
- Coached at Colgate, Virginia Tech and Stanford and is now a teacher at Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton, Calif.
