Marquette '16The versatile Liam Byrnes will fill many roles for the U.S. team
Liam Byrnes will play primarily as a longstick midfielder for the U.S. team, but as he has shown throughout his career, he can play anywhere. Byrnes can help on close defense and also has plenty of experience with a shortstick.
A member of the training team in 2018, Byrnes is set to take advantage of the opportunity to play in the world championship.

- Big East Defensive Player of the Year and 2nd team All-American as a senior at Marquette

- Finished career with 212 groundballs and 96 caused turnovers in 59 games. Also had seven goals and nine assists.
Pro
- Played five years in Major League Lacrosse with Florida, Atlanta and Philadelphia before joining the PLL
- Led the MLL with 30 caused turnovers in 2019 and was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year after helping Atlanta reach the league playoffs
- Helped the Waterdogs win the 2022 PLL championship
- Currently plays with Panther City in the NLL after stints with Georgia and Philadelphia
- Led Panther City with 26 caused turnovers in the 2021-22 season
