Boston UniversityAngela began playing lacrosse at Boston University, where she played from 1960-62. She played for the Boston Women's Lacrosse Association from 1960-65. In 1966 she began playing for the Westchester Women's Lacrosse Association and continued to play for them until 1975. Angela served as the head coach at Greenwich Academy from 1965-2013, compiling an amazing record of 692-91-11. She also served as the school's field hockey coach and amassed an astounding 746 field hockey victories during her career. The Fairfield County Sports Commission named Tammaro as one of its Sports Persons of the Year in 2008. She was an assistant coach for the U.S. squad from 1979-88, and served as a national lacrosse umpire from 1966-85.
Tammaro was the president of the Westchester WLA from 1968-75, president of the New England Women's Lacrosse District in 1974, first vice-president of the USWLA from 1974-80, and secretary/treasurer of the IFWLA from 1985-89. She was a member of the USWLA Selection Committee from 1978-88 and chair of that committee in 1984 and 1987. She has held numerous clinics on behalf of the USWLA throughout the U.S. and in Japan. She is an honorary member of the USWLA.
Angela was inducted as a player or individual who has demonstrated long, dedicated and exceptional service to the game.
