USA Lacrosse and TeachAids Partner to Promote Concussion Education

TeachAids and USA Lacrosse, the governing body of lacrosse in the United States, proudly announce a special new partnership. Over the past two years, USA Lacrosse and TeachAids have collaborated closely to launch two innovative concussion education programs. First was the Brain Fly-Through, which uses state-of-the-art technology from Stanford University’s Neurosurgical simulation and Virtual Reality Center to conceptualize an otherwise “invisible” injury. Second was the Concussion Story Wall, an interactive database featuring more than 700 individual’s stories describing personal concussion experiences. On the heels of launching these groundbreaking products, USA Lacrosse and TeachAids will be working together to produce a new multi-sport curriculum with highlights from this sport.

“It is important for everyone, not just coaches, parents and athletes to understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion, and how to respond if a concussion has been sustained,” said Kevin Greene, Director of Coach and Athlete Development. “In an effort to promote positive health and safety to our entire community, USA Lacrosse will continue to work with the USOPC and other sports’ governing bodies to support and promote the CrashCourse content as a vital resource.”

Greene adds, “USA Lacrosse is excited to implement the CrashCourse concussion education products into our training process. We consider the health and safety of our athletes our highest priority. Our partnership with this world-renowned nonprofit will help us accomplish our mission of providing enhanced payer safety to the more than 400,000 USA Lacrosse Members, and to extend our reach to everyone with whom they have the potential to influence.”

“We are excited to be working with such a popular sport to help further the safety and enjoyment of its participants,” states Dr. Piya Sorcar, TeachAids Founder and CEO. “The leadership of USA Lacrosse provides an impressive model of commitment to player and coach health education.”

USA Lacrosse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, is the governing body of men’s and women’s lacrosse in the United States, leads the U.S. National Teams Program and establishes universal standards. With nearly 400,000 members across the country, USA Lacrosse unites the community of players, coaches, officials, parents, and program leaders. Working together, we inspire participation, enrich the athlete experience, and support the growth of the sport.

The CrashCourse curriculum will be instituted throughout USA Lacrosse’s educational programs nationwide starting today via their website, and e-Learning platform for members.
