Uncommon Fit to Provide Uniforms for USA Lacrosse Box Teams

By Brian Logue

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse is proud to announce that Uncommon Fit will be the official uniform provider for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Box teams. The U.S. teams will compete at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, N.Y. from Sept. 20-29.

This is an especially exciting time for box lacrosse in the United States as the women’s national team will be competing for the first time internationally. The U.S. men’s team has won five consecutive bronze medals at the box championships and narrowly missed reaching the gold medal game in the most recent world championship in 2019.

"We are thrilled to partner with Uncommon Fit as the official uniform provider for our Women's Box National Team,” said Erin Misner, manager of the U.S. women’s national teams. “In anticipation of the historic first-ever World Lacrosse Women's Box Championship, our collaboration takes on added significance, and their attention to detail will help pioneer our devotion to this discipline and the forefront of its promising future.”

“We are so excited to partner with Uncommon Fit as the official uniform provider for our Men's Box National Team,” said Chris Drake, manager of the U.S. men’s national teams. “Uncommon Fit has been a leader in the box lacrosse uniform space for many years, and I have personally been lucky to work with them in my time in the amateur box lacrosse scene as well as in the National Lacrosse League. They have always provided top-notch customer service and world-class products that we can't wait to wear in the championship."

"Everybody at Uncommon Fit is very excited to be working with USA Lacrosse as the official uniform supplier for both the men’s and women’s box lacrosse teams,” said Jamie Plunkett, operations manager for Uncommon Fit. “We are very excited and proud to watch both teams compete for gold in Utica this September."

A record 28 teams will compete in the men’s box championship, including 11 first-time participants. The U.S. is led by head coach Regy Thorpe, a former player with the U.S. box national team who was also the head coach for the bronze medal winning team in 2019.

Ten nations will compete in the inaugural women’s box championship. The U.S. is led by head coach Ginny Capicchioni, a veteran women’s collegiate coach who was also a pioneering women’s athlete, playing for both the National Lacrosse League’s New Jersey Storm and the 2011 U.S. men’s box team, winning a bronze medal as a goaltender.
