SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Bryant University head women’s lacrosse coach Brianna Roche has announced her decision to step down after five seasons.
“I want to thank Director of Athletics Bill Smith and everyone at Bryant for the opportunity to lead the women’s lacrosse program for the past five seasons,’ said Roche. “It’s been a privilege to recruit and coach so many terrific student-athletes at Bryant. This is a personal decision to step aside so I can give full attention to my family and young children. I wish nothing but the best for the women’s lacrosse program at Bryant.”
Under the direction of Roche, the Bulldogs qualified for three conference tournaments including winning a share of the Northeast Conference regular season championship in 2022 with nine student-athletes earning all-conference recognition, including Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. For her efforts, Roche was named the 2022 NEC Coach of the Year.
“I want to thank coach Roche for all that she has done in leading our women’s lacrosse program for the past five years,” said Vice President for Athletics and Recreation Bill Smith. “She has positioned the program to be successful as we begin our second year competing in the America East Conference. I wish nothing but the best for Brianna and her family as she begins the next chapter in her career.”
Bryant will immediately begin a national search for its next head women’s lacrosse coach.
