Penn Sends Quake Through Division I Women's Top 20

After a week that could be categorized as mundane given the previous standards set in 2025, there is at least one big mover in the latest USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20 update.

Penn, which entered the week at No. 18, is up to No. 11 after beating Ivy League leader Princeton, 15-12, on Wednesday. The Quakers followed with an 18-10 win over Cornell in which Anna Brandt deposited nine goals.

The victory also clinched a spot in the four-team Ivy League tournament, keeping a bid for the Ivy automatic qualifier alive. Given the wins on its resume, Penn can likely still fall back on an at-large bid, though.

The remaining notables in the Top 20 update have more to do with teams tumbling than teams surging. Syracuse has fallen to No. 13 after scoring just twice in a 17-2 loss to Boston College, and Johns Hopkins is beginning to lose its footing after suffering its third loss in its last five games.
