USA Lacrosse High School Girls' Players of the Week
The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.
NORTHEAST
Molly Snow, Wilton (Conn.)
Ridgefield (Conn.) became the most recent team to struggle dealing with Snow. Molly Snow was sensational in a 21-7 victory over Ridgefield on Thursday night at Kristine Lilly Field, accounting for half of Wilton’s (Conn.) offensive output in the comprehensive win. The Lehigh-bound senior had 11 points from four goals and seven assists. A week ago, Snow became the Warriors’ all-time assists leader with 143. That’s now 161 helpers and counting.
“She’s a quintessential captain,” Wilton coach Merri Meyran told CT Insider after the game. “She’s so unselfish and constantly elevating the level of play around her. Which is what makes her so special. She doesn’t care who gets the credit, she just wants to be a part of it and does an incredible job.”
Also notable: Maureen Arendt, Garden City (N.Y.); Ella Gould, Nyack (N.Y.); Chloe Humphrey, Darien (Conn.); Maddie Lyle, Somers (N.Y.); Shannon Nolan, John Jay-Cross River (N.Y.); Ava Simonton, Ward Melville (N.Y.)

MID-ATLANTIC
Isabella Caporuscio, Crestwood (Pa.)
Caporuscio didn’t get to play high school lacrosse as a freshman due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, she’s made up for lost time and helped the Crestwood girls lacrosse team to previously unknown success. The senior attack had 30 goals and 15 assists in four wins for the Comets last week to reach career milestones of 400 goals and 100 assists.
Her 400th goal came in an 18-9 win over Scranton Prep (Pa.) that improved Crestwood to 14-2. She finished that game with nine goals and four assists. The Comets are aiming for a third straight 2A championship in District 2. Caporuscio, who has 124 goals and 41 assists in 16 games this season, will play for Stony Brook next year.

In the regional semifinal, she posted 10 goals in a 19-6 win over Lake Brantley (Fla.). In last week’s regional championship, she contributed five goals. She is committed to play for Newberry College next year.

MIDWEST
Emma Burke, Loyola Academy (Ill.)
No one in the Midwest had a more impressive week than the Ramblers, as they topped three of the region’s best in Hinsdale Central (Ill.), New Trier (Ill.) and New Albany (Ohio). And perhaps no one impressed more than the Michigan commit Burke, who can influence a game in so many ways. Take her stat line against New Albany when Burke tallied two goals, two assists, three caused turnovers, two ground balls and eight draw controls.
Also notable: Gianna Kurelko, Benet Academy (Ill.); Issi Osborn, Rockford (Mich.); Maddy Paz, New Albany (Ohio); Nicola Santoni, Edina (Minn.); Tori Tomalia, Carmel (Ind.)

The senior attacker/midfielder helped Cathedral Catholic to three wins last week, but especially came up big in a 13-12 victory against Coronado (Calif.). She caused a turnover in the ride and scored the game-winner with 30 seconds left and finished with four goals and five draw controls. She also had six goals in a 10-7 win over La Jolla (Calif.) and seven goals in a 23-11 victory over Scripps Ranch (Calif.).
