The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

We begin with players from the South and West. Next week will have full national representation.

SOUTH

Ryann Frechette, Bartram Trail (Fla.)

Ryan Frechette has put up impressive numbers to start the year. The junior attacker is averaging over 7.0 goals per game for 8-1 Bartram Trail, scoring at least five in every contest. The Florida commit is also leading her team in draw controls and ground balls. She has been a prolific scorer her entire time in high school having already scored 278 goals midway through her junior year.

Also notable: Taylor McGovern, Stoneman Douglas (Fla.); Maeve Simonds, Milton (Ga.)

The Bruins senior scored four goals and had two assists in a 12-6 win over Evergreen (Colo.) on March 14. Four days later, Billings followed it up with four goals and four assists in a 17-10 win at La Costa Canyon (Calif.). A National Team Development Program Combine invite last summer, the tall, strong midfielder is headed to Stanford in the fall.
