MIDWEST TOP 10
1. New Trier (Ill.), 5-2
The Trevians return from a long spring break with two games in three days against in-state foes Glenbrook South and Benet Academy. The last time New Trier played, it came within a goal of two top East Coast opponents in Paul VI (Va.) and Georgetown Visitation (D.C.). Previous: 1
2. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 8-2
Like the Trevians, the Ramblers have been off for over a week since their own East Coast trip. Loyola has another trip coming this week, to the Centennial State to take on a number of Colorado’s top teams in Regis Jesuit, Kent Denver and undefeated Colorado Academy. Previous: 2
3. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 5-0
The Golden Bears have been tested early this season, but keep emerging undefeated. Knotted at 11 late with Olentangy Liberty (Ohio), Upper Arlington keeper Marisa Blauser kept it tied with a couple of key saves, and then Elizabeth Schumacher helped un-tie it with assists to Kampbell Stone and Lilly Stelzer. Previous: 3
4. Kentucky Country Day (Ky.), 9-1
The Bearcats’ break is over and their first week back includes a couple of interesting games against solid Land of Lincoln opposition: York (April 14) and Benet Academy (April 15). That’s the beginning of a stretch of 12 games in 16 days. Previous: 4
5. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 1-0
Having last played on March 23, the Pioneers’ first game back happens to be a good one, a trip to Forest Hills Central (Mich.). Every time EGR and FHC met last season, the game turned into a high-scoring battle, with the Pioneers prevailing three times (21-17, 24-17 and 12-11). Previous: 5
6. University School of Milwaukee (Wisc.), 1-0
The Wildcats got off to an impressive start, topping then-undefeated Divine Savior (Wisc.) in their opener. Amazingly, 10 of University School’s 12 goals came from just two players, both underclassmen: freshman Darcy Doyle (6 goals, 2 assists) and sophomore Mia Darr (4 goals, 2 assists). Previous: 6
7. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 4-0
The Red Devils tallied a season-high 23 goals in Saturday’s in-state win over Lockport, including four goals apiece from Angie Conley, Reese Napier and Daphne Venetsanopoulos. That marks Hinsdale Central’s last home game until Loyola Academy comes to town April 25, as its five-game road trip includes last year’s Buckeye State Division I finalists Upper Arlington and New Albany. Previous: 7
8. Carmel (Ind.), 4-0
So far, so good for the Greyhounds, who have allowed just 13 goals through their first four games. Coming off a long break, Carmel has three games in three days, starting April 13 against Bishop Chatard (Ind.). Previous: 8
9. Olentangy Liberty (Ohio), 5-2
Credit the Patriots, who impressed in victory (a six-goal win over an always tough Medina team) and defeat (coming within two goals of powerhouse Upper Arlington). Expect a fascinating contest April 15 between Liberty and Jackson (Ohio), which recently picked up an impressive road win over Mason (Ohio). Previous: T10
10. Lakeville South (Minn.), 0-0
The Cougars ended the 2022 season with 16 straight wins and a state championship. While Lakeville South graduated leading scorer Brielle Fannin, it returns plenty of talent, including last year’s leader in draw controls, Tori Tschida (Temple), as well as Gabby Bouman (Xavier), who tied for second on the team with 75 points last year. Also watch for Berkeley commit Emily Moes (43 goals, 15 assists) and Sivanna O’Brien. Previous: NR

WEST TOP 10
1. Colorado Academy (Colo.), 7-0
The Mustangs showed no rust after a 10-day break from action, as they routed Columbine (Colo.) 18-3 in their first game back April 3 and followed that with a 16-2 victory over a quality Cherry Creek (Colo.) team. Addy Westerberg led CA with four goals and one assist in the game against Cherry Creek, while Skylar May also added five points on two goals and three assists. Previous: 1
2. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 11-0
The Wildcats were 3-0 last week and scored 17 points in each of their games, beating Tamalpais (Calif.), Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) and Menlo-Atherton (Calif.). Tamalpais was the only of those opponents to come within single digits of St. Ignatius, falling 17-10. This week will be a challenge with three games in Colorado, including a showdown of the top two ranked teams April 12 at Colorado Academy. Previous: 2
3. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 10-2
The Knights led Palos Verdes (Calif.) by just four at halftime and outscored the Sea Kings 8-1 the rest of the way for a 15-4 win April 8. Foothill won all but five of the draws and peppered the Palos Verdes goalkeeper with 37 shots. The Knights have allowed double digit goals in just two games this season – both their losses against St. Ignatius and Colorado. Previous: 3
4. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 10-0
After winning a close battle against Torrey Pines (Calif.) the week prior, the Wolves had an easier time putting away St. Margaret’s (Calif.) on April 3 in their only game of the week. They beat the Tartans 17-4 behind Addie Brower’s four goals. Grace Kerr and Leslie Ilorio each added three goals and two assists, and Lauren Poulsen made seven saves in goal. Previous: 4
5. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 6-5
The Falcons have been idle since their one-goal loss to San Ramon Valley but they were set to return to play April 10 against Park City (Utah). Torrey Pines struggled early this season against a tough schedule, but showed what the team is capable of in beating Cathedral Catholic (Calif.), 14-7, on March 29. Two of the Falcons’ losses were against out-of-state teams, including Mid-Atlantic power St. Paul’s School for Girls (Md.) and Texas defending state champion Hockaday. Previous: 7
6. Valor Christian (Colo.), 5-2
The Eagles rolled to a 23-1 win over Air Academy (Colo.) in their only game of the week, as Amanda Stevens tallied six goals and Reagan Digby put up four goals and four assists. Valor has been solid since its three-goal loss to Fairview (Colo.), which dropped out after two losses to unranked teams last week. The Eagles beat Regis Jesuit and Cherry Creek and now will play a key matchup April 11 with the one-loss ThunderRidge (Colo.) team that handed Fairview one of its losses last week. Previous: 8
7. Oak Ridge (Calif.), 12-2
The Trojans joined the rankings after beating a solid Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) team, 15-8, on April 3 in their only game last week. Their two losses were against unbeaten San Ramon Valley and an early setback against California San Ramon. Even with those defeats, Oak Ridge has outscored opponents 224-52 this season. Previous: NR
8. Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), 8-1
The Gators followed a one-goal win over Cathedral Catholic with an upset of previously-ranked Coronado (Calif.) on April 3. Lily Selcher and Olivia Abbott each tallied three goals in the 11-8 victory, and Skylar Schramm had four assists. That was SHP’s only game of the week, but a big one is up next with a road matchup at San Ramon Valley on April 12. Previous: 9
9. ThunderRidge (Colo.), 6-1
The Grizzlies jump into the top 10 after beating former No. 5 Fairview (Colo.) 13-10 last week in their only game. The teams were tied at halftime, but ThunderRidge broke loose in the second half to collect its best win of the season. The Grizzlies’ lone loss was against Colorado Academy, a six-goal defeat on March 14. Another test awaits against Valor Christian on April 11. Previous: NR
10. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 6-2
The Bruins dropped a big loss to Colorado Academy but stay put for now while other top teams in Colorado still are sorting out their places while beating up on each other. Cherry Creek has wins over La Jolla (Calif.) and La Costa Canyon (Calif.), and upcoming games against Fairview and Regis Jesuit will eventually sort things out and make the rankings clearer.
