1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 16-4
Following a dominant performance against Mother McAuley (Ill.) earlier in the week, the Ramblers were brilliant defensively in Saturday’s 11-5 victory over Upper Arlington, one of the Buckeye State’s top teams. Tia Boyle made a number of saves in a hotly contested first half, Sophie Goldberg (Marquette) had four caused turnovers and three ground balls and Mia Chupaila got the Ramblers going by scoring their first three goals. 3. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 13-3
The Golden Bears’ five-game win streak came to an end in Illinois, where they fell to both New Trier (12-11) and Loyola Academy (11-5). Still, Upper Arlington very much remains a team to watch in the Buckeye State, with a single in-state loss (in overtime to New Albany), and 15 scorers in their last Ohio contest, a 19-0 victory over Hilliard Davidson. That included five points apiece by seniors Kampbell Stone and Lilly Stelzer. Previous: 4

5. New Albany (Ohio), 11-5
The Eagles might have the trickiest resume to grade of any Midwest team. On one hand, New Albany has lost to several unranked teams. On the other hand, the Eagles have topped a number of the region’s top teams, including New Trier (Ill.) and Upper Arlington (Ohio). To quote (and then misquote) “The Facts of Life,” you take the good, you take the bad — and you eagerly await what happens next. Previous: 2
6. Lakeville South (Minn.), 5-0
The Cougars keep winning (with every victory coming by at least seven goals) and they keep scoring (to the tune of 18.6 goals per game).
