In a historic move that’s set to redefine the landscape of collegiate sports, the Next Collegiate League (NCL) is proud to announce the inception of its women’s division, launching in the league’s thrilling third season. This isn’t just another addition to the league; it’s a monumental step towards inclusivity, excellence, and the much-anticipated Olympic dreams of countless athletes.

BREAKING GROUND WITH A LACROSSE LEGEND

It’s with immense pride and excitement that we welcome a towering figure in lacrosse to shepherd this groundbreaking journey: Chesapeake Chapter Hall of Famer, Stephy Samaras. Taking on the role of commissioner, Stephy isn’t just a celebrated athlete; she’s a beacon of inspiration, a testament to excellence in lacrosse, and now, the guiding force behind the NCL’s women’s division.

Stephy’s journey from the lacrosse fields of Annapolis High School to the prestigious position of a two-time All-American Defender for the University of Virginia is nothing short of legendary. Her extensive coaching career, spanning from Yale to Quinnipiac and Richmond, coupled with her invaluable experience as a Team USA Lacrosse player, sets the stage for an unparalleled leadership experience in our new women’s division.
