Welcome to Five Things with The Meg Show, a weekly series sponsored by Gait Lacrosse featuring former Syracuse women’s lacrosse stars and current members of the New York Charging, Meaghan Tyrrell and Meg Carney.

Each week, the duo will provide their thoughts on the weekend in NCAA women’s lacrosse and share their perspectives on the people, storylines and teams making waves in 2025.

This week, Tyrrell and Carney give us their top five players in women’s college lacrosse right now.

5. RACHEL CLARK, BOSTON COLLEGE

She’s an absolute dominant attacker on this Boston College offense. She has 14 goals in just three games, including two goals in the national championship rematch this past weekend against Northwestern.

4. CHLOE HUMPHREY, NORTH CAROLINA

She’s returning this season after recovering from a season-ending injury last year. She’s a redshirt freshman and she leads the Tar Heels through their first three games with 15 points. Most recently, she put up five goals and one draw control against a top 10 team in Florida.

3. BROOKLYN WALKER-WELCH, NORTH CAROLINA

She’s also coming off an injury, missing last season. However, it looks like she hasn’t missed a beat, starting in all three games for the Tar Heels. So far, she has been a defensive and offensive threat, especially after a highlight-reel caused turnover that led to her own transition goal against Florida.

2. EMMA WARD, SYRACUSE

She’s off to a strong start, putting up seven points against Maryland, including two highlight-reel plays — one being a behind-the-back goal, followed up with a behind-the-back assist later on in the game. She’s a fifth-year with the Orange and she knows how to command the offense.

1. MADISON TAYLOR, NORTHWESTERN

Taylor has not disappointed in Northwestern’s start to the 2025 season. She’s putting up six points per game so far and is working hard between the 30s, winning draws for the Wildcats. She is every defensive player’s nightmare as a dodging and feeding threat.
