Kylie Gioia brought some much-needed NCAA experience to first-year Charlotte when she transferred to the 49ers after spending 2021-24 with Cincinnati.

Her veteran leadership is beginning pay huge dividends.

In a surprise win over fellow first-year program South Florida, Gioia produced six goals on seven shots with one assist and two draw controls. She is the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Player of the Week.

The 17-16 victory over South Florida represented Charlotte's first-ever AAC win and improved the 49ers to 6-7 overall.

DIVISION II

Maria Reeves, Florida Southern

Reeves totaled 29 draw controls across Florida Southern's wins over No. 2 Lynn (15-11) and No. 7 Saint Leo (18-10). The senior midfielder opened the week with a game-high 12 draw controls against Lynn. She followed with a game-high 17 draw controls, one shy of her season-high mark, at Saint Leo.

Reeves is currently third in Division II with 8.5 draw controls per game.

DIVISION III

Sara DiGiovanni, Franklin & Marshall

The junior goalie was a major contributor in a two-win week for the Diplomats. She didn’t allow more than 10 goals in either game, and she made 16 total saves.

Her big effort came in the showdown against Gettysburg. DiGiovanni made 12 saves against the Bullets, including two in the fourth quarter en route to a scoreless final period for the Bullets.
