Rams' Reign at No. 1 in MCLA Division II Coaches Poll Continues

ATLANTA — For the sixth consecutive week, it’s Rhode Island in the top spot of the New Balance MCLA Division II Coaches Poll, which was released on April 12.

The Rams (10-1), who have won 10 straight contests, gobbled up 21 of the 27 top votes to easily remain at No. 1. Rhode Island has its last Division II contest on Friday night against CLC rival Bridgewater State.

Cal State San Marcos (10-1) picked up a couple more first-place votes (6) this week to strengthen its spot at No. 2. The Cougars face their stiffest test of the season on Saturday when they host No. 9 UC San Diego (10-1).

Montana State (8-1) remains No. 3 after dispatching No. 12 Utah State (8-6) over the weekend. St. Thomas (4-2) remains No. 4 after a win over No. 17 Minn.-Duluth (3-6).

There is a tie at No. 5 this poll with Missouri State (6-1) and Montana (13-2) sharing the honor.

There were no new additions to the poll this week.
