Lacrosse Community Rallies Around Holy Cross Coach J.L. Reppert

The lacrosse community continues to rally around the family of Holy Cross men’s lacrosse coach J.L. Reppert. Reppert’s wife, Jill, died on Sunday after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. The couple has a 10-year-old son, Liam.

As of Friday, more than $100,000 had already been raised through a GoFundMe page to help the family manage the day-to-day logistics and care for Liam while helping to provide for his future education.

The GoFundMe page reads, “Jill was the rock to the Reppert family. Like many coaches' spouses, she endured the demands families assume when their loved one coaches, especially at the collegiate level. She selflessly supported Coach Reppert through his time at the US Naval Academy, University of Maryland, and now with the College of Holy Cross while being a teacher, and raising Liam.”

J.L. Reppert is a longtime and popular fixture in the lacrosse community. Reppert is in his third season as the head coach at Holy Cross after spending six years as the offensive coordinator at Maryland. With the Terps, he helped mentor Tewaaraton winners Matt Rambo and Jared Bernhardt and helped Maryland win the 2017 NCAA title.

A 1999 Navy graduate, J.L. Reppert was a captain on the lacrosse field with the Midshipmen and went on to serve nine years in the United States Marine Corps. In addition to coaching at Holy Cross and Maryland, Reppert has been an assistant at Navy, Harvard, Washington College and five high schools. His father, Joseph, is a well-respected high school and college official. His brother, Brad played at Towson and his sister, Sarah, played at Auburn.
