The Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club was one of the original six PLL franchises when the league launched in 2019. The team was rebranded as the Maryland Whipsnakes ahead of the 2024 season. The Whipsnakes won the first two PLL championships (2019, 2020) and reached the championship game in 2021.
