Syracuse junior attacker Emily Hawryschuk, who appeared on the cover of our NCAA preview edition in February, showcased her heroic play-making abilities on Sunday.

Trailing No. 7 Notre Dame by three at halftime, the No. 4 Orange used a commanding 5-1 edge in the second period to become "Cardiac 'Cuse" for the comeback 10-9 victory. Hawryschuk sealed the deal with the game-tying goal at the 4:28 mark, followed by the unassisted game-winner 50 seconds later, to earn Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

The junior finished with a team-high five points on four goals and an assist, having a hand in half of Syracuse's offensive production.

“Emily came through at the end, buried her last couple of shots and stepped up when we needed her," Orange coach Gary Gait said.

The Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by the US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I women’s lacrosse throughout the season.
