A week after Mira Shane made a career-high 18 saves in Michigan’s win over Dartmouth, the senior goalie brought that momentum to Boulder, Colo., and made 17 saves in an 8-6 win over nationally ranked Colorado — propelling the Wolverines to a 5-0 start, a No. 19 ranking in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20 and now a nod for Shane as the Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Shane, a periodic starter for Michigan during her first three seasons, has flourished in a full-time role. She currently ranks third in Division I with a 61.5-percent save percentage.

Shane is featured in the February edition of US Lacrosse Magazine in an article, entitled “Renaissance Woman,” in which she discusses her off-field pursuits as a beat boxer and mental health advocate. The story is scheduled to be released Tuesday on uslaxmagazine.com.

The Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by the US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I women’s lacrosse throughout the season.
