Ally Kennedy Named World Lacrosse Women's Box MVP

UTICA, N.Y. — Ally Kennedy, who scored the first and last goals, the U.S. women's box team's 10-7 gold-medal victory over Canada was named the MVP of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's Box Championship.

Despite playing in a defensive role, Kennedy's breakaway speed was a major factor for the U.S. offense. She finished second on the team with 24 goals, including seven goals in the semifinal victory over Australia.

She was joined on the All-World team by two of her USA teammates — Erin Bakes and Ingrid Boyum. 

Bakes led the U.S. team in scoring with 39 points with 22 goals and 17 assists. That ranked second in the entire tournament. 

Boyum made 94 saves while allowing just 13 goals with her 88 percent save rate leading the primary goalies in the tournament. She made 41 saves in the godl medal game.

The three USA players were joined on the All-World team by Canada's Jordan Dean, Erica Evans and Megan Kinna.
