COLORADO SPRINGS — World Lacrosse today welcomed Armenia as its first new member of 2025 and 93rd member overall.

Armenia will be a part of the European Lacrosse Federation, which now holds 36 members. World Lacrosse has added 20 members since the start of 2022.

“I am excited to welcome Armenia as the newest member of our global lacrosse family,” World Lacrosse CEO Jim Scherr said. “I want to thank everyone involved in the rapidly growing lacrosse community in Armenia and look forward to seeing their participation in European events alongside some of our most active members.”

The ELF has added two members in the last three years after Malta joined in 2023 and remains World Lacrosse’s largest continental federation with members spanning across a diverse subset of Europe.

Europe’s membership originally began in 1995 with Czechia, England, Germany, Scotland, Sweden and Wales, and some of its most recent additions alongside Malta and Armenia include Greece, Lithuania and Luxembourg.

The ELF has a robust event schedule at the continental level with many National Governing Bodies also holding regular international competitions. The 2025 EuroLax Sixes Cup is set for early March in Portugal, while the 2025 European Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be held in July in Poland.
