For more than two decades, the Warrior Evolution “Evo” line of stick heads has been a staple in the lacrosse community.
With the latest update — the Evo QX2 (Quick Strike) — the Evolution is in its seventh iteration. It’s the longest-running line of lacrosse products in the industry.
The most notable update to the Evo QX2 heads is that both are made with Therma-Loc+ resin. This new plastic changes the game when it comes to longevity and overall durability. Heads made with Therma-Loc+ retain stiffness up to 50 percent more than standard nylon lacrosse heads. Additionally, this material is designed to withstand all weather conditions, so it will not lose shape in high heat or become brittle in the cold.
The QX2-O head is an elite option for offensive-minded players who rely on ball control, accuracy and quick release. Players like three-time U.S. team attackman Rob Pannell require a head to keep them dialed in when coming out of a quick dodge to pass or shoot accurately. Now with a higher pinch to promote a longer channel for better hold and consistency, the QX2-O is better than ever.
On the other hand, the Evo QX2-D, while similar in look, has beefed up sidewalls to prevent snapping or cracking from hard checks along with raised ridges placed on the back of the scoop to pick up ground balls in tight quarters. This head is perfect for the gritty close defensemen, like Atlas enforcer Tucker Durkin, who are an offensive player’s worst nightmare.
To pair with these heads, the Evo QX2 line includes an offensive and defensive handle. The minimus carbon shafts are made with a strategic flex that encourages a quick release and has an updated tactical grip from top to bottom for ultimate control. The Evo QX2 shaft is Warrior’s stiffest carbon fiber layup yet and weighs roughly 130 grams, making it one of the lightest on the market.
Lastly, the Evo QX2 gloves are game ready right off the shelf and more comfortable than ever. The new Hybrid Taper fit backhand design allows the glove to contour to the natural shape of your hand, enhancing mobility and protection. Along with that, new Cloud Cuff technology extends your range of motion while adding extra padding around the wrist to withstand hard checks.
