September 6, 2023
Matt DaSilva

Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. College lacrosse teams are back on campus.

Tuesday marked the first day of fall practices at several schools across the country — including Boston University, East Carolina, Florida and Rutgers.

Need a fall ball primer? Check out our way-early rankings for Division I men and women and come back later today for a composite schedule of exhibition games taking place the next two months.

2. Blaze Riorden is not retiring from the Premier Lacrosse League.

The four-time PLL Goalie of the Year clarified that on social media Tuesday after a previous post thanking everyone from teammates to sponsors led some to wonder if the 29-year-old had played his last professional lacrosse game.

“I’m not even 30,” Riorden posted on X, formerly Twitter. “My [heart] is in this game. If you questioned retirement, you don’t know me.”

3. USA Lacrosse unveiled an updated “Exhibit of Champions” at the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum. It includes game-worn jerseys from all six NCAA championship teams as well as Tewaaraton Award winners Brennan O’Neill (Duke) and Izzy Scane (Northwestern.)
