Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Merrimack, Sacred Heart to leave NEC for MAAC.

Conference movement continues. The NEC announced it would sponsor men’s lacrosse in 2024-24 after a two-year hiatus less than two weeks ago. But yesterday, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported that Merrimack and Sacred Heart, a pair of member schools with the sport, planned to leave as of July 1, 2024. MAAC confirmed the news in a release. NEC will have five member schools for lacrosse, putting its AQ status into the NCAA Tournament in jeopardy again, while the MAAC expands to nine. Full story.

2. Howard’s Alexis Joseph honored by IWLCA.

Howard assistant coach Alexis Joseph has been named the recipient of the Tina Sloan Green Award, the IWLCA announced yesterday. The new honor was created in 2021 to recognize people or teams for their efforts to promote diversity and inclusion. It is named for Hall of Fame coach Tina Sloan Green, the first Black head coach in women’s intercollegiate lacrosse history who led Temple to three national titles. WHAT WE'RE READING

The Harvard men’s lacrosse team hosted its annual “Burrito Bowl” for TEAM IMPACT, an organization that pairs children with long-term illness or disability with college sports teams. Harvard exceeded last year’s fundraising goals, The Crimson reports.
The Ohio State men’s team named captains for the 2024 season.
The UConn women announced their 2024 schedule.
