Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NLL season begins on Friday.
With NLL openers less than a week away, we doubled up on season previews yesterday. First, a look a the Philadephia Wings, where departures of players like Trevor Baptise and Kiel Matisz may be stifled by the chance to see early MVP hopeful Mitch Jones in Philly for a full year.
And then there’s the Rochester Knighthawks, a franchise that saw its turnaround season fizzle out down the stretch before a first-round exit in the playoffs. Will 2023-24 start and end well? Jack Goods dove in.
2. The Outlaws’ return to Denver matters.
What’s in a name? A legacy, at least according to former Outlaws players celebrating the original MLL franchise’s return to Denver as part of the PLL. Phil Shore spoke with iconic Outlaws players about the team’s resurrection.
Mindy McCord announced her second signing class at USF.
Adam Levi reflects on the career of Shawn Evans, who announced his retirement over the weekend.
Ty Thompson is headed to Panther City from Colorado in exchange for a conditional third-round draft pick.
Lacrosse Canada has revealed its staff for the World Box Championship set for next September in Utica, N.Y.
The NLL and Warrior took a page from Sports Center’s book with this reminder that the NLL season is coming.
