Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Tuesday, Jan. 24

Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

  1. Re-loaded Rutgers is ready to go in 2023.
Fresh off a historic season that saw the Scarlet Knights play in the Final Four for the first time, Rutgers has some cleats to fill. Gone are key cogs in last year’s lineup, like attacker Mitch Bartolo and goalie Colin Kirst. But Rutgers will lean on a new crop of nine transfers like Colgate transfer and SSDM Ryan Decker and likely close defender LaJhon Jones, who led Bryant in caused turnovers last season. Patrick Stevens has the 4-1-1 from the 732.

  1. Denver’s defense is locked in — what about the offense?.
Denver returns much of its powerhouse defense, including All-American Sam Thacker and starting goalie Emelia Bohi. But there is a key hole to fill on offense without star attacker Bea Behrins. The good news for the Pios? As Charlotte Varnes writes, a youth movement is in the works.

  1. Still doubt the Knighthawks?
You’re one of the only ones these days. Stellar play from Connor Fields and a win over the Bandits have put undefeated Rochester atop Jack Goods’ power rankings once again.
