Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

  1. No. 20 Stanford gets back in the win column against Cornell
No. 20 Stanford bounced back from last week’s loss to Jacksonville with a 17-13 win over Cornell Monday night. The win was the second of the season for the Cardinal, who got six points from Sarah Jacques, a hat trick from Ashley Humphrey and 12 saves from Kara Rahaim. Next up: No. 5 Stony Brook on Friday in San Diego.

Elsewhere, Louisville edged Vanderbilt 15-12, UConn improved to 3-1 with a 17-6 rout of New Hampshire and Stenson edged Duquesne 16-14.

  2. Notre Dame rises to second in the men’s Division I Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 20
Don’t be fooled by the 15-8 final — Notre Dame dominated Georgetown. The win moved the Irish from No. 5 to No. 2. No. 4 Maryland, No. 5 Duke and No. 11 Rutgers also made big moves in the polls. See the full list.

  3. Army makes big moves in women’s Division  I polls
Army’s 10-5 win over Rutgers was the Black Knights’ first against a top-10 opponent in program history. The win earned the cadets a No. 14 ranking in the latest Nike/USA Lacrosse top 20. UNC remained No. 1 — a date with rival and No. 4 Boston College looms on Friday. See the full list.

  4. Some — but not a ton of — reshuffling in Division II polls.
There’s a decent amount of minor movement in the women’s Division II poll, but East Stroudsburg remains No. 1. There weren’t many upsets on the men’s side, leaving the top 20 mostly intact.

  5. Shake-ups in the Division III rankings
Upsets galore, including Gettysburg over previously-No. 2 Salisbury, have given the Nike/USA Lacrosse men’s Division III rankings an overhaul. Washington & Lee continues to move up the ranks in women’s Division III.

WHAT WE’RE READING
