Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Tuesday, April 11

1. No. 10 Notre Dame thumps Butler in record-setting fashion
   After losing a late lead in a loss to No. 5 Boston College, No. 10 Notre Dame rebounded with a 26-3 win over Butler in the lone Division I men’s or women’s game Monday evening. The Irish’s 37 points were also a program road record, besting its previous mark set in 2019 at Ohio State. Fourteen different players scored goals for the Irish, and the 26 tallies were the most ever for the program in a road win. Madison Ahern (2 G, 4 A) and Jackie Wolak (2 G, 4 A) paced the Irish in the win. Recap.

2. Another week, another No. 1 in Nike/USAL Division I men’s lacrosse rankings
   For the fourth-straight week, there’s a new No. 1 in the Nike/USAL Division I men’s rankings. The Irish downed last week’s No. 1, Duke, to reclaim the top spot. Syracuse also makes its 2023 rankings debut. Full list.

3. Upset put Penn in the top 20 of Nike/USAL Division I women’s rankings
   Penn upended Yale Saturday and now finds itself at No. 15 in the Nike/USAL division I women’s rankings. USC also cracks the top 20 at No. 20, while No. 1 Syracuse, No. 2 Northwestern and No. 3 Denver stay put. Complete rankings.

4. LeMoyne, West Chester remain atop the Nike/USAL Division II top 20
   At 9-0, LeMoyne is still the No. 1 team in the Nike/USAL Division II men’s rankings, where few upsets led to little movement.
   
   In the women’s rankings, No. 1 West Chester and No. 2 Regis are both 11-0. But don’t sleep on Pace — up one spot to No. 3 this week.

5. Tufts takes over at No. 1 in men’s Division III rankings; Middlebury solidifies top spot for women
   Christopher Newport fell over the weekend, making way for Tufts to move into the top spot in Division III. Middlebury won its 11^th straight to strengthen its case for the No. 1 ranking on the women’s side.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• No. 7 Cornell hosts Marquette in the first-ever meeting between the two teams today at noon.

• Boston University and No. 5 Boston College clash at Nickerson Field today at 4 p.m. BU upset Navy on Saturday.

• No. 4 UNC plays its final non-conference game of the regular season at East Carolina today at 4 p.m.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

Jaclyn Marszal’s first career goal was a record-breaker. Notre Dame’s 26-goal performance at Butler beat the program’s previous mark for goals in a road game, set in a 24-4 win at Kennesaw State in 2017.
