Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Deion Sanders is making Colorado a Prime destination for sports fans. See what we did there?
Sanders is no stranger to being on the lacrosse radar. The multi-sport professional athlete and current head coach of the Colorado football program has never hid his feelings about lacrosse.
Now, in an Associated Press article published on ESPN, Sanders is making an impact on one former Colorado men’s lacrosse (MCLA) player. According to Trevon Hamlet and others around campus, Sanders is elevating the Black experience at Colorado.
2. National Celebrate Lacrosse Week is back.
The third annual National Celebrate Lacrosse Week — set for Nov. 4-12, 2023 — will feature approximately 100 Pick Up & Play events that will introduce new players to the sport. The clinics are spread across 32 states and will involve USA Lacrosse working with 80 local lacrosse organizations to help provide pathways for players to continue exploring the sport.

3. At 30 years old, Henry White might be the oldest player in college lacrosse.
There’s a good reason why. After graduating from West Point in 2017, White served in the Army for six years but retained NCAA eligibility. He’ll play at Duke in 2024 under head coach John Danowski.
