Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Monday, May 8
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Surprise, surprise.
Michigan and Princeton’s surprise respective conference championship runs burst the bubble for teams — notably Denver and Penn — and took out the drama for the NCAA Division I men’s tournament selections. ACC heavyweights Duke, Virginia and Notre Dame earned the top three seeds.
2. Cats on top.
Northwestern was a slam dunk as the No. 1 seed for the NCAA Division I tournament, but Syracuse edged out Boston College for the No. 2 spot. Our bracketologist Jeremy Fallis correctly forecast all 29 teams in the field.

3. LeMoyne and Rollins top MD2 bracket.
Unbeaten LeMoyne is the top seed in the men’s NCAA Division II North region while Rollins, fresh off its first Sunshine State Conference championship, is the No. 1 seed in the South.
4. Golden Rams look for golden touch.
Top-ranked and unbeaten West Chester is one of four No. 1 seeds in the women’s NCAA Division II field, joining Pace, Regis and Tampa.
5. Jumbo-sized field
The 38-team NCAA Division III men’s tournament field is headlined by No. 1 ranked and unbeaten Tufts. The Jumbos are a perfect 18-0 and will be trying to dethrone two-time reigning champion RIT.
6. A powerful statement.
The two-most recent Power 5 schools to add men’s lacrosse — Michigan and Utah — are both headed to the NCAA tournament. Michigan blew out reigning NCAA champion Maryland to win the Big Ten and Utah beat Air Force to win the Atlantic Sun in just its fifth year with a varsity program.
