1. Redemption for Bandits
A year after losing to Colorado in the NLL championship series, Buffalo came back to throttle the Mammoth 13-4 before a packed house of 18,296 hometown fans in the decisive game three of this year’s final to win its first NLL title since 2008.
2. Waterdogs start PLL season with W.
The reigning PLL champion Waterdogs opened the 2023 PLL season with an 8-7 overtime win against 2021 champion Chaos. Connor Kelly scored the game-winner.
In the other games from opening weekend, Ryder Garnsey scored six goals as the Redwoods beat Atlas 13-12, Mike Sisselberger won 24 of 30 faceoffs in his PLL debut to lead the Archers past the Cannons 16-13 and rookie Cross Ferrara’s goal with six seconds left gave Chrome a 12-11 win over Whipsnakes, denying a late comeback from the Whips.
3. Dartmouth men’s lacrosse makes a change
Despite a solid 6-6 season that included a promising 5-1 start, Dartmouth has parted ways with head coach Brendan Callahan.
4. Ithaca legend Jeff Long retires
Jeff Long, a former U.S. men’s national team player and assistant coach, has retired after 36 seasons as the head coach at Ithaca College. The three-time All-American from Navy led the Bombers to 362 victories and also coached the women’s soccer team for 31 years.

Gina Carroll of Massachusetts was the MVP after leading the North team to an 11-9 victory over the South team in the IWLCA Division I All-Star game at USA Lacrosse.
