Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Albany takes control in the NLL.

Albany followed up a season-opening victory over Las Vegas last weekend with a 17-13 win over reigning champion Buffalo to take the early pole position in the National Lacrosse League with a 2-0 record. Alex Simmons had five goals and three assists for the FireWolves.

Georgia, Las Vegas, Rochester, San Diego and Toronto were also winners this weekend. Vegas’ victory came on Zack Greer’s OT goal.

2. A new home for the Terps.

Maryland unveiled a first look at its new home for its women’s lacrosse program at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. The expanded facility has a new locker room, a revamped sports medicine area, a Hall of Champions, a new fan entrance and coaches and meeting space on the second-floor addition.

3. Beyond the lacrosse field.

It was a notable weekend for some lacrosse people off the field. Navy’s two-sport Xavier Arline started at quarterback for Navy in the historic football rivalry game against Army. Army won the game 17-11. Arline, who twice topped 100 yards rushing in the rivalry now turns his focus to lacrosse where he had 33 points for the Midshipmen last season.

On the basketball court, former high school lacrosse player K.J. Adams had 17 points and five assists in Kansas’ rivalry win over Missouri, highlighted by this blocked shot.

And back to the football field, CBS’s Evan Washburn, a former Delaware lacrosse star, interviewed another Delaware grad, Joe Flacco, after the latter's unlikely comeback from being on the couch a few weeks ago to leading the Browns to a victory in the heat of a playoff race.
