Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. What can’t Charlotte North do?

The U.S. women’s box team wrapped up its series of Player ID camps with one yesterday in Troy, N.Y. Gold-medal winner Charlotte North was among the players looking to catch the eye of head coach Ginny Capicchioni to earn an invite to the team’s upcoming training camp. The U.S. men’s and women’s teams will both hold training camps in Utica, N.Y. – the site of the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships – in late September.

2. Archers cruising into PLL playoffs.

Connor Fields scored four goals as the league-leading Archers controlled the Whipsnakes 16-11 in Seattle to improve to 8-1 as the Premier Lacrosse League gets ready for the final weekend of the regular season. The Archers have clinched the No. 1 seed having won six straight and snapped the Whipsnakes three-game winning streak.

Elsewhere, the Cannons and Waterdogs each won to go into the final weekend with identical 6-3 records. The Cannons got a goal and three assists from Asher Nolting and held off a late Atlas rally to win 14-13. The Waterdogs got a pair of two-pointers in the first quarter to jump to a 5-0 lead on Chaos and then rode the hot goaltending of Dillon Ward (17 saves) in a 13-8 victory. Finally, Wes Berg had three goals, including the game-winner in overtime in the Redwoods 11-10 victory over Chrome.

3. Eyes on the Irish.

Notre Dame’s men’s program won a national championship in part to the contributions from transfers. Now it’s women’s program could see a boost from some transfers coupled with a strong nucleus and some promising freshmen.

4. Athletes Unlimited sees rising numbers.

The just-concluded Athletes Unlimited lacrosse season saw boosts in all of its metrics — ESPN viewership, attendance at USA Lacrosse, retail sales and social media engagement versus last year.

5. The art of the deal.

Making a trade in the Premier Lacrosse League is not an easy task, which is part of the reason that this month’s Romar Dennis – Myles Jones deal was the first in-season trade this year.
