Since taking over the Syracuse men’s lacrosse program in 2021, Gary Gait has used every tool at his disposal to elevate the depth of talent on his roster. Like football star turned coach Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime, Gait is making headlines and capturing imaginations.
To reinvigorate the team spirit, Gait is honoring Syracuse lacrosse legends and engaging alumni. To help the Orange add some style to these celebrations, Gait tapped AXIA Time founder John Kanaras to design ultra-custom timepieces that celebrate the Orange’s 11 national championship teams.
In an interesting twist, Kanaras and Gait first met on the field in 1988. Kanaras was the Penn goalie Gait dunked on as he flew over the back of the cage in a final four game at the Dome. The “Air Gait” might be the most iconic play in college lacrosse history.
“While the scars from that game have [mostly] healed, I am humbled to partner with Gary to celebrate the Syracuse lacrosse legends and the future of this incredible lacrosse program,” Kanaras said.
Said Gait: “We were excited to partner with John Kanaras to celebrate the rich history of Syracuse lacrosse by inviting back some of the most impactful names of our program and honoring their contributions with these AXIA timepieces.”
Now you can purchase your own Syracuse lacrosse timepiece — and support an important cause that is close to the team’s heart.
