Samantha Mehalick scored 11 goals, one shy of an NCAA Division I record, and punched in a free position with seven seconds remaining to lift Marist to a 15-14 MAAC quarterfinal win over Manhattan and earn Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

Four of Mehalick’s goals, including the game-winner, came in the final six minutes, as the Red Foxes battled back from a three-goal deficit in the second half. She eclipsed her own school record of eight goals and tied Lehigh’s Jill Altshuler (May 2, 1996 vs. West Chester) for the second-most goals in a single game in NCAA Division I history, behind Loyola’s Stacey Morlang, who scored 12 goals in a May 1, 2002 game against American.
