The changes to this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 were the result of head-to-head matchups mostly within the rankings. The only new team to enter is Ward Melville (N.Y.), which finished a strong season with its first county title in 17 years.

Led by St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), which wrapped up an unbeaten season, the top seven teams are all the same. Darien (Conn.) won a measure of revenge with a win over Wilton (Conn.) to slide up, as did Episcopal (Pa.), which topped an Agnes Irwin (Pa.) team that had had their number this season with two wins over the Churchwomen in the regular season.

Summit (N.J.) and Sayville (N.Y.) are the only teams still playing in bottom half of the Top 25 with Sayville still working on an unbeaten year. Severna Park (Md.) and Glenelg High (Md.) came away with state championships in their respective classes to close their seasons.

St. Anthony’s,, Good Counsel (Md.) and Colorado Academy (Colo.) are to be especially commended for completing perfect seasons, a particularly difficult task for many teams now able to challenge themselves out of region and across leagues.

ABOUT OUR RANKINGS

High school rankings are compiled by USA Lacrosse Magazine writers with input from coaches around the country.
